Susan Howitt

Professor Susan Howitt is a member of the Research School of Biology at The Australian National University, where she is affiliated with the Department of BIO. Her research interests focus on understanding the molecular mechanisms of transporter function, utilizing heterologous expression systems to characterize transporters and mutant variants. Her current work centers on sulphate transporters from plants and bicarbonate transporters from cyanobacteria. Additionally, she is deeply involved in educational research, exploring conceptual learning and learning about research. She is also the Senior Tuckwell Fellow, responsible for developing and coordinating a program for the Tuckwell Scholars.
