James Aird

James Aird is a Professor at The University of Edinburgh, affiliated with the School of Physics and Astronomy. His research focuses on X-ray astronomy, with particular emphasis on active galactic nuclei and quasars. He is a UKRI Future Leaders Fellow and holds a Personal Chair in X-ray Astronomy. Aird is based at the Royal Observatory, Edinburgh, and his work includes studies on black hole growth, X-ray-radio connections, and multi-dimensional luminosity functions. His research has been published in leading astronomical journals, including the Astrophysical Journal and Monthly Notices of the Royal Astronomical Society.
