David H. Autor is the Daniel (1972) and Gail Rubinfeld Professor in the MIT Department of Economics, and a Margaret MacVicar Faculty Fellow. His research focuses on labor economics, particularly the labor-market impacts of technological change and globalization. He is also a Google Technology and Society Visiting Fellow. Autor's work explores job polarization, skill demands, earnings levels, and inequality. He has published extensively on these topics, including studies on the effects of import competition and technological change on labor markets. His research has been featured in major publications and has influenced discussions on the future of work. He is affiliated with the National Bureau of Economic Research and the Abdul Latif Jameel Poverty Action Lab.
