Simon Haine

Dr Simon Haine is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of PHY at The Australian National University. His research focuses on theoretical physics, particularly on the fundamental limitations of measuring physical quantities such as gravity, rotations, magnetic fields, and temperature, and how quantum mechanics can be harnessed to overcome these limitations. Haine completed his PhD at ANU and held various postdoctoral and fellowship positions, including at the University of Queensland and the University of Sussex. He rejoined ANU in 2018. His work includes publications on quantum-enhanced metrology, matter-wave interferometry, and quantum noise in spin systems.
